Irrelevant Adsense on Homepage, but OK on single

  • Its kinda weird….

    My blog is about cooking recipes…but adsense showed on my homepage (index.php) is irrelevant, about blogging etc. But when on a single page (single.php) the ads showed is relevant!

  • use google’s tags for specifying relevant content on a page. wordpress does not control how google adsense behaves. ??

    The google adsense site describes HTML tags that help you ‘tell’ adsense what is content and what is ‘extra’ when it comes to relevant ad targeting.

    Some other things:

    – Your meta title isn’t useful for ad targeting.
    – You don’t have meta description or keywords, which also could help.
    – Your theme is potentially ‘bad’ for ad targeting, as it uses a table layout, so one sidebar is before the main content. That’s where the google html tags might help.
