iQ Block Country compatibility possible?

    Hi, I am a premium WP Optimize customer, I sent a support request via website, but never received any answer. Looks like premium supports isn’t working at all.

    My task is to restrict access to the website from particular countries.

    My question: is it possible that WPOptimize can become compatible with iQ Block Country plugin? The problem is, as they say, in the fact that caching plugins disregard header data:

    If a visitor is blocked this plugin sends header data where it supplies info that the page should not be cached. Many plugins however disregard this info and cache the page or the redirect.

    Please note that many of the caching plugins are not compatible with this plugin. The nature of caching is that a dynamically build web page is cached into a static page    .

    If a visitor is blocked this plugin sends header data where it supplies info that the page should not be cached. Many plugins however disregard this info and cache the page or the redirect. Resulting in valid visitors receiving a message that they are blocked. This is not a malfunction of this plugin.

    Disclaimer: No guarantees are made but after some light testing the following caching plugins seem to work: Comet Cache, WP Super Cache
    Plugins that do NOT work: W3 Total Cache, Hyper cache, WPRocket

    Hello,

    Thank you for your message. Here is the copy of the reply we sent in response to your ticket.

    Unfortunately it’s not good news.  Caching and country blocking plugins don’t normally go together. 

    You  would need to implement your geo blocking at the CDN level. This usually means paying for the CDN as this is typically not included in free tiers (they’ll give you space for a few rules, but the kinds of rules you need for geo blocking will normally exceed the free allocation).

    You can geo-block based on the X-Forwarded-For header 

    If you did this using something like Cloudflare, you would be able to cache.

    Thank you for prompt reply. Is there any particular WP plugin that you recommend to use for Cloudflare integration?

    Hello – you’re welcome, unfortunately I would not be able to make any particular recommendations as I do not have an in depth knowledge of such plugins.
