• I’m on a PC and my site is hosted on iPowerWeb servers. I’m trying to upgrade to 2.0 and I followed the installation instructions and everything looked in the FTP client… very much as expected or so i thought, until I get to Step 9!!! Then I get these errors:

Warning: main(/home/projects/public_html/WordPress/wp-settings.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/projects/public_html/WordPress/wp-config.php on line 20

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required ‘/home/projects/public_html/WordPress/wp-settings.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/projects/public_html/WordPress/wp-config.php on line 20

What is Line 20? I can go to my FTP program and look the file square in the box. I can go to my server and look at the files and sure enough, there is the file. So, why can’t I make the dumb thing run?

Oh, and I’m only computer so-so… not an n00b, but no where near a programer or developer. (i.e., use small syllables for me. Thanks! :j)

Did you ever get this to work? I need to upgrade my iPowerWeb-hosted blog to 2.0.

I can’t help with the error messages but I can note that I have upgraded three blogs hosted on ipowerweb servers to 2.0. Haven’t had the slightest bit of problem doing it.

I’ve recently added WP1.5 to my site via iPowerweb’s one-click installation. They’ve told me they have no plans to upgrade to 2.0+ on their end, but its OK to do it myself. Just wanted to re-iterate, dualravens, you’ve upgraded your blogs on ipowerweb, from 1.5 to current version with no problems using WP’s 5-step process for upgrade?

    That’s correct.

I got started on ipowerweb when they were still using b2, so I’ve installed each version of WP fresh myself since December ’04. That includes installing 1.5 and updating it now to the most recent version. Not the least bit of a problem. In fact I’ve updated a few blogs to 2.0 and had not the least bit of a problem.

The only caveat would be the fact I didn’t upgrade from their one click installation, and so there might be differences in doing that I’m not aware about.
