It’s not a general CSS issue, it’s a WordPress CSS issue.

General CSS issue would imply that I have written some crazy CSS but ya know, the CSS is pretty WordPress standard, as in I have not modified the default theme that much really…

    Thanks anyway though.

    Oh, which theme is that?

It’s just the standard twenty eleven theme, well I obviously created a child theme from it, but thats all it is, I just modified the colours etc etc.

I can’t replicate the same issue on the theme’s demo website https://wp-themes.com/twentyeleven/ . Have you tried disabling plugins to explore whether any could be responsible? If the problem persists, you’ll have to delve into your Child Theme’s CSS.

^ Yeah I just checked that out, works perfectly on iPad, as you’d expect. Strange that.

It’s just odd because the site is built for 1024×768 as standard, so you’d think it would look just as it does on a computer, on an ipad.

I have deactivated all plugins too, and still screwed. Obviously something to do with the CSS.

    Odd.

Is this missing the point, but cant you turn the ipad around and use it in landscape rather than portrait, also are you mistaking the fact that the theme is flexible, with the desire for the theme to be responsive?

It looks the same in both orientations. It makes no difference.
