    Hi,

General questions here about your cookie/tracking policies and my website as I am creating a privacy policy.

FYI Users cannot create accounts on my website.

Do you use cookies for visitors to my site?

I found this page about your GDPR compliance. From reading, it seems to me that if Relevanssi logging is enabled, but IP address is disabled, that you will not collect or store any personal info from users who visit my site. Can you confirm this is the case?

    Your page states:

The logs will always include the user ID and if you so desire, the user IP address. It’s not currently possible to disable the logging of user IDs.

Since users cannot create accounts on my site, my understanding is that you will not collect or store any personal info regarding user accounts. Can you confirm is this is the case?

    Your page also states:

Relevanssi can’t automatically remove log entries for searches users do when they are not logged in, as Relevanssi cannot connect IP address to user ID.

When I DO enable logging and enable IP tracking, it seems that Relevanssi can indeed connect IP address and User ID if both are selected in the logging settings. Can you confirm if this is a wording error on your page or if I am misunderstanding?

    Thank you.

Yes, the IP address is the only personal information Relevanssi collects, and that’s disabled by default. Relevanssi does not use cookies.

Site users who are not registered users don’t have a user ID. User ID is only for registered WordPress users. If someone has an account on your site and is logged in, the Relevanssi logs will collect their user ID. But since your site doesn’t have an option to create an account, this does not apply to your site.

If you don’t enable the IP logging, Relevanssi will not collect any personal information about your users, and you don’t have to worry about it in your privacy policy.
