Thank you for creating such a useful plug-in. I was using Limit Login Attempts and getting a lot of lockouts, so I wanted to see more detail (attempts/etc) so I installed your Activity Monitor plug in.

One thing I wanted was to see who/where the login attempts were coming from. You can manually do this one at a time online, but after some searching I found that you can do it via an API call to IPInfoDB.com for free. Based on the example code provided on their site, I added in this capability to Activity Monitor.

The output looks like this: https://postimage.org/image/ju25ospej/

I’d love to see this as an official feature in future versions of Activity Monitor, and I’d be happy to share the code I added/changed.

  • I like this idea, but only if the service is optional and, when active, handled asynchronously to avoid massive page load delay.

You might look into how WP Slim Stat handles geolocation since it is a service available in the plugin. I know the plugin maintains a local table with location records to reduce page loads time inherent when retrieving from a remote service.
