Ip Geo Block toption preventing giWeather from functioning properly
-
Hi
I have discovered an issue between the compatibility of IP Geo Block and the giWeather plugin I use to display a local weather widget.
I was having a problem with the giWeather weather widget displaying when I was logged in, but when logged out it was showing a timer wheel with a ‘Connection Error’ message.
Looking at the developer tools console, the errors I was getting on the page were as follows:
LOGGED OUT
https://[domain]/wp-content/plugins/wp-spamshield/js/jscripts.php Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found);
https://[domain]/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (Forbidden);
Failed to parse SourceMap: https://[domain]/wp-content/plugins/giweather/extras/mod_giweather/tmpl/js/hammer.min.mapLOGGED IN
GET https://[domain]/wp-content/plugins/wp-spamshield/js/jscripts.php ;
Failed to parse SourceMap: https://[domain]/wp-content/plugins/giweather/extras/mod_giweather/tmpl/js/hammer.min.map;I discovered that the problem stems from IP Geo Block. I tried adding an exception to giWeather in the Plugins Area section of the settings area, but this didn’t help.
I finally discovered it is the ‘Prevent Zero-day Exploit’ option under admin ajax/post that is causing the problem. I unticked this box and the weather widget now displays to logged out users. In addition the developer tools console now shows no errors on the page
Do you know why this is happening and if there is some fix within IP Geo Block to allow me to turn on this security option without stopping giWeather from working properly?
Many thanks
