IP blocking not working

    Hello!

    My site is experiencing spam registrations, and to stop it I have started blocking IP addresses (Firewall -> Blocking -> Block type: IP Address).

    But it doesnt work – today I see that there is spam registration with the IP address that is already in blocked IP list. Why is that?

    Hello @arturs4 and thanks for reaching out to us!

    Generally, when dealing with spam attackers, IP blocking won’t work completely due to the fact that a lot of these spammers arent even hitting your site directly, so an IP is never registered.

    The best advice I can give for dealing with spam is to use a spam protection plugin such as Akesmit. I see a lot of people have success with them.
