  • You can white list your IP in the Firewall settings and then advance firewall settings

Hello @yulahu and thanks for reaching out to us!

If you navigate to Tools > Live Traffic, what does it say the reason is for your IP being blocked?

How are you uploading images? Is it via a file manager, FTP, or directly from the WordPress dashboard?

You can always follow what @paramedic192 suggested but I always warn people of this due to IP addresses being leased and change frequently, so you would have to update this setting every time your IP does change.

Let me know what you find!

    Thanks!

Hi @wfadam Thank you for your answer. I upload images directly from WordPress, as I′m doing that parallel to setting up a product. I havent seen the blocking on the life traffic list, so I asked the hosting company to let me know what is happening, because the blockage happens on the server as I understood.
They sent me a log file entry that they saw and said it has to do for sure with a plugin that set something in .htaccess file so that I don′t have the rights
This is why I thought I ask you.

This is what the Hosting company sent me:

    ./error_log.1:[Tue Sep 22 00:16:05.917449 2020] [access_compat:error] [pid 17911] [client 46.127.180.88:58320] AH01797: client denied by server configuration: /srv/www/vhosts/yulahu.com/httpsdocs/wp-content/uploads/woocommerce_uploads/Wire-Wrapped-Green-Cabochon_EN-1fy2gf-pdf-sbx8by-300×225.jpg, referer: https://yulahu.com/wp-admin/post-new.php?post_type=product

the file itself is set to attr. 644, but they say it is blocked from the application side with “deny from all”

do you have any idea what setting is causing this?

I just deleted this “deny from all” entry in the htaccess file to be able to work further. I don′t know if is a good idea or not.

I don’t recommend removing anything from the # Wordfence sections in your htaccess file, as that wouldn’t cause any issues with any plugins.

This error looks like something dealing with woocommerce however. If you can see your IP being blocked in the Live Traffic, then you can whitelist is right from there or you could also try Learning Mode if this is a Wordfence issue.

From the Wordfence Dashboard click on Manage WAF. Then you will see Basic Firewall Options > Web Application Firewall Status. Change the option to Learning Mode. Now perform the actions that were causing issues. This will help Wordfence learn that these actions are normal and it will allow them in the future. After you have finished performing the actions, switch the WAF from Learning Mode back to Enabled and Protecting. Now test to see if these actions work correctly.

https://www.wordfence.com/help/firewall/learning-mode/ is an amazing resource for learning more about the WAF and learning mode.

Let me know if this helps!

    Thanks!
