IP Address Restriction

    Great Plugin but I have come across a possible issue.
    I am finding that the IP Address Restriction does not appear to be working as expected.

    I have the IP Address Restriction Option checked in settings.
    After rating a post I can often rate again either by refreshing the post or leaving the post completely and returning. On other occasions I receive the message that I cannot rate again however if I wait for a few seconds then press the submit button again I find that it will accept my rating.

    This is strange… Do you have any caching plugins enabled? Is the second submit actually updating the first rating, or creating a new rating in the rating results shown in the WP-admin? Could be some sort of a plugin conflict but not really sure…

    I am currently testing the plugin before moving to the production server. Not sure if any caching programs are active, though I doubt it.

    Each creates a new item, here’s a sequence I ran on a single post today

    1. Provide rating – result 1.875/5
    2. modify stars – submit result 2.9166666/5
    3. Modify stars – Message unable to submit again
    4. Wait 20 seconds press submit – result 5/5

    The above showed as three new entries in the results page.

    It’s possible your IP address changed but I’m not confident this is what’s happened… Coming soon you’ll be able to choose a combination of IP address and/or using a cookie restriction method.

    Combination of IP address and/or using a cookie restriction method has been added to latest version of the plugin. Marking topic as resolved.

    Shouldn’t there be a restriction on the author of a post to prevent them from rating their own posts?
