IP Address login attempts

  • Hello,

    I have a question about login attempts to my wp site, which has notified me of an ip address in another country making numerous attempts at logging in and has subsequently blocked it. Should this be cause for concern and/or should i look into this further and put additional security on my account(s). Can somebody advise on this, i would very much appreciate it?

    If you were notified, it means that whatever security plugin you are using, is working! Sites with many visitors are often targets for login attempts. It happens to all of us. I would recommend to disable notifications about failed login attempts and enable notifications about successful login attempts, because that’s when you really want to know and take action if it wasn’t you.

    You may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures.

    Bad people will do what they know. We can’t stop them. But we can protect our sites.
