IP Address has changed and I’m unable to login

  • When I go to my website I see this message:

    This Website’s IP Has Been Changed

    If you are the owner of the website, please check your email for the new IP address and information how to update your records.

    I changed the host from GoDaddy to Google in early 2020. I couldn’t find any IP Address when searching my Gmail.

    Where are you actually hosting the website? Your DOMAIN’s name servers are set via google domains, so you can go to https://google.com/domains to change the A (and WWW) record for the domain to point to your actual host.

    The message you cited is coming from Siteground, which is where the domain currently points.

    Google is hosting the site.

    I’ve never registered a host or changed records. Looks like I need a Host name and IPV4 address, correct?

    If I am barking up the wrong tree let me know.

    You have a domain name. You just need to point it at your machine on Google. You’ll need to get the IP address from your control panel there.

    I just made contact with the original designer of the site and he shared an update for the A record with me just now. That was the missing piece. I have updated the A record and it says it will take 48 hours to apply. So I think I should be on my way to fixed. Thank you

    It’s good now. People just say 48 hours so you won’t keep hitting “refresh” and bugging them. ??
