    Hello

The iOS app hangs and will only shimmer, whatever the post status.

In brief, have restarted phone (to clear cache), reinstalled (version 21.4.1), logged out and back in and even updated all plugins including JetPlack still via the desktop UI and I still cannot get any of my published, drafts or scheduled posts or in fact any category to display.

Re: https://www.spindlelegs.co.uk – there are 30+ live posts but still none will load. To add further fuel to the fire, tapping on the jump out link to the live admin responsive site from the app, launches the console in my mobile browser fine. In the browser, I can see all the posts, whatever their status.

Finally, I have other sites plugged into wordpress.com and I can see those posts whatever their status within the same iOS app. The iOS app refuses to display any posts (makes me think there is a setting somewhere – but where?)

Any advice, links, tuts, processes you can recommend would be very appreciated.

    Russell

    Hello again

Have checked and doubled checked Jetpack. I cannot see an missed updates, or missing authentication keys or any other sign in/up options – but still the iOS doesn’t want to co-operate. Any suggestions at all?

As a note, I have also shared my issues at wordpress.com who directed me here – so still pushing to get this resolved

    Hi @russellwebb,

    Thanks for the detailed report.

This is likely due to a communication problem between Jetpack on your site (which is where requests for your site’s content from the app go to) and our servers.

While your site is publicly accessible, we cannot access your site’s XML-RPC file, or more precisely, we’re not getting the expected response:

    https://spindlelegs.co.uk/xmlrpc.php

Jetpack and other plugins and apps use the WordPress XML-RPC API to connect to your site. It must return the following message:

XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only.

You can see a working example here:

    https://wp.cloud/xmlrpc.php

As a first series of steps here, I would recommend that you check the following:

    1. Can you see the /xmlrpc.php file at the root of your WordPress installation when accessing your site via FTP? If you don’t, then please try re-installing WordPress. You can do this by going to the Dashboard -> Upgrades page, then clicking the “Reinstall” button.
    2. Do you use any security plugins that may block access to this file? If so, could you try to disable them? You might also want to check your site’s .htaccess file for any rules that might be blocking access to the xmlrpc.php file.
    3. Does your hosting provider block access to this file? If you don’t find any plugin that may block access to the file on your site, I would recommend that you get in touch with your host.

Let us know how that goes.

    Hi there,

It has been more than one week since we have heard from you, so I’m marking this topic as resolved.

But if you have any further questions or need some more help, you’re welcome to reply here or open another thread.

I had this issue too and went down the red herring path of messing with the xmlrpc.

Then I noticed on the top left of the Posts page on the Jetpack app, there’s a downward-facing arrow that toggles between “Me” and “Everyone”. How is this useful?

I have no idea what the feature does, but I can’t see most of my own sites published posts when it’s set to “Me,” although it appears I can see them all when it’s set to “Everyone.”

I can’t find that feature documented in a web search, though this web page — about the same symptom I was trying to solve — did come up in those search results.
