Invoked permalinks, Albums stopped working

Does anyone from NextGen ever check these threads? Is there any documentation anywhere?

I tried to invoke the permalink structure, let it do it’s thing, rebuilt the permalinks…and now my albums are completely screwed. The gallery thumbnails only point to the album page. You click on the image and nothing happens. Does anyone know what’s going on?
