Invoice doesn’t recognise non-Roman characters

    Hi there,

    The addresses for customers with non-Roman alphabets aren’t displaying properly – non-recognised characters display as “????”, creating major issues for my shop. Weirdly it’s not all characters – some do display fine.

    Have searched for a plugin to correct this but no joy so far.

    Any suggestions for a plugin or other solution?

  • Hi, when seeing an issue with unrecognized characters it is usually a good idea to look into the fonts that the site or theme use. Do they support the language(s) that show the errors? Can you copy and paste that text into a plaintext editor to see what they should show? I recommend ensuring that the fonts being used support the characters you would like displayed. Not all fonts are created equal so some of them do not have a character for ALL languages. Here is another good explanation of what is occurring and how to correct it.
