Inviting people to the blog & rss vs email subscriptions
-
Hello all,
I was curious about a couple things. One is with regard to rss versus email subscriptions. I setup Feedburner to create an email subscription system. Unlike RSS subscriptions, this only sends email when something new is posted. My RSS feeds display the last 5 or so postings, even if those postings were weeks ago. Is there any way to have something like that happen via email? Just curious.
With regard to getting new people to a new blog, it would be cool to have something like the social networking sites. When you join one of those, you can contact people via email to join you as friends or as part of your network. Has anyone created a wordpress plugin that would let one send invites to people to have them subscribe to one’s blog?
There are a few different ways to share ones social networking pages and such from the blog. One plugin is Social Links, which didn’t seem to work with twitter for some reason. Does anyone have a favorite from among these that they could recommend?
Lastly, there is a service called Addthis.com Is there a wordpress extension that would similarly create a button with drop-down menu (or similar functionality) to allow persons to bookmark or otherwise save one’s blog postings? I suppose the best way to do this is using links that appear with every posting instead of just one such thing for one’s entire blog.
Thanks,
Bruce
