    Hello,

I keep on receiving this notification, day in day out:

“We see that you enabled automatic updates for WordPress. We recommend that you do this for Yoast SEO as well. This way we can guarantee that WordPress and Yoast SEO will continue to run smoothly together. Go to your plugins overview to enable auto-updates for Yoast SEO.”.

Not only doesn’t it work (clicking on “Go to your plugins overview to enable auto-updates for Yoast SEO” does not yield anything), it is also deeply annoying to get that same notification over and over again.

    Can you stop this?

    Regards,

    Martin

    Hello Martin,

We are sorry about the persistent notification, though we are unable to reproduce it. The notification should appear when you have WordPress major core updates enabled, but not Yoast SEO. If you dismiss it, the value should be saved so that it won’t appear again.

Do you use the Easy Updates Manager plugin to manage the auto-updates of your plugins? As of WordPress version 5.5, an auto-update feature was added to WordPress core, so it doesn’t require an additional plugin to manage that anymore.

    Hello,

You are unable to reproduce it, maybe. Yet a lot of people are complaining about the very same issue on this forum. So, clearly, I am not making it up (unless we are all conspiring to make this a fake issue just for the fun of it).

For the record, there is no option to dismiss this notification.

I don’t feel the need to upload yet another plugin to fix irritating notifications from another plugin.

    Regards,

    Martin

@legalmartin Thanks for your reply and we’re sorry for the difficulties you’re experiencing with the notification, and we certainly didn’t mean to imply that you were making up the issue.

Also, we weren’t asking that you upload or install another plugin to correct the issue, we were inquiring whether you are using an additional plugin on your site called Easy Updates Manager, because this plugin is no longer necessary to manage updates since WordPress 5.5, but can cause some conflicts in update management if still in use.

    Hello,

I am not experiencing “difficulties”, which would imply that I am unable to deal, from a technical perspective, with those recurrent (and I dare to say useless) notifications.

I am irritated like many other users (browse this forum for further evidence) and I firmly, but respectfully, request that you adjust your plugin so that we can enjoy its benefits without having to endure this kind of frustration.

I trust that you will take the necessary steps in that direction and mark this tickets as resolved.

    Regards,

    Martin
