Invalid user name

  • When I try to log in (.org) I get an error message “Invalid User Name”
    I try “Lost Password” I am sent a new password with my user name.
    I enter both and still get “Invalid User Name”.
    I have tried both .com & .org user names.
    Can someone help?

  • admin is almost always username unless you did a one click install
    you can log in to phpmyadmin and browse the wp_users table for the correct user name

    Thanks for your reply. I am a real newbie when it comes to this part of the internet. How do I log into phpmyadmin. I tried to log in through the regular log in box. Didn’t work. I tried putting phpmyadmin at the end of www.remarpro.com, didn’t work

    phpmyadmin will be a link in your host’s control panel in the mysql section

    THanks for your help. I had no files in mysql section so I contacted siteground and they did a reinstall for me. Everything seems to be working fine now.

    this helps me too. I found my DATABASE username and know the password, but….. I guess the easiest thing would be for me to create a new email for my taffy8 username, since WP won’t let me have 2 user names at one email.
