This happened to me when trying to post on a blog site. (I don’t know whether the blog runs jetpack.) I tried to post a comment, and got “Invalid security token” and the comment didn’t post.
I never figured out exactly why it happened, but there were some clues:
It had nothing to do with cookies or the browser I was using (I tried several, including Chromium Portable).
It had something to do with the particular comment I was posting (which contained some HTML markup, but no links). That comment failed with the same error, from several browsers. But when I posted a very short comment, with no HTML markup, that one worked without error.
That blog site runs a plugin which lets users edit their comments for five minutes, before they becomes final. I was able to edit my short comment, and replace it with the entire original comment, identical to the one which failed. That worked without error.
