Invalid RSS value

  • I have:
    – Installed and activated WordPress RSS Retriever
    – Created a new page
    – On the page, added a shortcode block
    – Put the following shortcode in the block

    [wp_rss_retriever url="https://freshbread.today/rss/" items="10" excerpt="50" read_more="true" credits="true" new_window="true" thumbnail="200" cache="3 months"]

    I get this error message:
    RSS ERROR – Invalid url value: . Please check your shortcode.

    I have tried a number of tweaks to the code, and also using a /feed/ from another WordPress site, and I can’t seem to get the plugin to recognise the URL.

    What am I missing?

    Title should be ‘Invalid URL value’ as per t he error message

    Update: The hosting co (FastComet) has confirmed that there is no server-side limitation occurring.The WordPress RSS block displays the link to the post, so there’s no problem there.

    I am attempting to use WordPress RSS Retriever with the aim of displaying an excerpt of the post with a thumbnail.

    I am still no further forward with this.

    When I add the sample shortcode exactly as shown in the demo, with the demo URL, and using a Gutenberg shortcode block, I get

    RSS ERROR – Invalid url value: . Please check your shortcode.
