  • Hi there,

I’ll be taking a look at this today and let you know what I find, or if I’ll need more information from your end of things.

Hi Michael, any update on this?

Hi, I checked with Michael earlier and he is still working on this. It is being a little difficult.
    ??

Same problem here. I get a 500 error when trying to connect with EVentbrite for the authorization screen.

cariocadigital – could you please start a separate thread and provide a link to your site so we can troubleshoot with you individually? Thanks.

    Hi,

This sounds like a typo in either the key or the secret; in Tools > Keyring, do you have an Eventbrite connection showing, and clicking on “Test” is successful? (mouse over the connection item to see the Delete | Test links on the right).

    Problem solved.

There was a conflict between the domain configured on my WordPress frontend and Admin area.

So, make sure your WordPress URL and site URL are configured correctly in WordPress > Configuration > General.

Also, I set my Eventbrite API URLS as follows…

    Application URL*: https://mydomain.com/wp-admin/tools.php
    OAuth Redirect URI: https://mydomain.com/wp-admin/tools.php?page=keyring&action=verify&service=eventbrite

    Its working correctly now.

    Hope this helps someone else.

    @automattic,

No I do not have an Eventbrite connection showing, as the “Add New Connection” process results in an error when directed to Eventbrite from Keyring during the setup.

There is no typo in the key or secret, I have copy & pasted them as well trying new keys and a new app.

Additionally, I have tried the solutions @cariocadigital suggested. My WordPress and site URLs are both correct. Also, the Eventbrite application URL has been tested using my wordpress site URL and also with the addition of /tools.php?

None of these solutions are working. Any other solution?

Is there any further detail after the “The application you’re trying to use has made an invalid request to Eventbrite. Please contact the application developer” error, such as maybe “Redirect URI hostnames must match”?

If not, and it’s none of the above, I’m not sure what else to suggest. If you’re good with it, you can change your Eventbrite account password, and then send me your EB login credentials to [email protected], and I’ll try to work directly with your account to see what I can find.

No, I am not receiving any such further details. I have sent you my EB credentials.

Great, got them, will take a look.

Hm, OK. I’ve been able to connect to your account on my local install, no problem. Of course, this is using my own API key and secret, so that the redirect URI matches properly.

I removed some junk that was on the end of the application URL in the key details, but that shouldn’t make a difference (I think it’s only used for Eventbrite’s tracking of API users).

I’ll pass on your email to Eventbrite, so they can check that nothing is wrong with your account directly.

You say you cleared your cache; did that include all cookies too? I know it’s frustrating, but can you also try from a different computer?

The last thing I could suggest is if you want to give me a temporary admin account on milkandhoneyshowroom.ericabrownpromotions.com. I don’t like doing this, but it’s the only way to hopefully replicate the issue you’re having connecting. If you want, you can send creds to the same email above again.

I’ve gotten no response from Eventbrite yet; any other info on your end?

I’ve tried just about everything I can on my end. I am wondering if it is conflicting with something in my theme files? I can give you access to a temporary admin account to troubleshoot. Should I email it to [email protected]?

    Yes, please do.

I can’t see how theme files would affect anything; they’re all problems before you can even connect, but I’ll take a look if you can send me creds.
