Invalid post type

I’ve long used a link to
[my wordpress URL]/wp-admin/post-new.php?post_type=ai1ec_eventto start a new calendar event. That now gives me an Invalid post type error.Sorry can’t say with what version it started but seems to be 4.1.1 or -2.
Behavior persists with all (other) plug-ins disabled.
