I am trying to import updates using a CSV file for multiple products and I keep receiving the error that the import has failed due to “Invalid or Duplicated SKU.”

The SKUs are unique in the file, but they are intended to match SKUs on the site so that it updates the correct products. I have been updating the spreadsheet the same way I used to so I am confused about why it suddenly fails to update products for me.

I only have a SKU column in my spreadsheet, no ID column. So it needs to match the SKUs and this used to work.

What can be done to fix this?

I already tried some suggestions in an old thread, but none of them worked.

    Hey there!

Something I would look at is if there are some spaces in the file in the SKU that are causing issues. If that’s not the case, can you please send us the CSV that is causing this, as well one of the products that already exists on your site (so we can create it and try to import to update).

I looked for spaces in the sku column and deleted them from my main file. My test file however didn’t have spaces in the skus.

I also figured out after posting that all products were duplicated somehow on the site. I am not sure how or when this happened. I used smart manager to find and delete the duplicates. Then I updated woo commerce. After that, I tried my test csv again and it worked.

It seems data must have been corrupted and led to a duplication somehow. Very strange issue but I think it may be resolved now.
