If you get the Invalid phone number message when sending a message, it means that the phone number you are using has an incorrect format.

The proper phone number for your location will include country area code according to Whatsapp format.
Make sure you’re editing the phone in the right place: If you have a contact box enabled you to have to edit the contact phone number, go to Contacts > Contact. Otherwise, you have to edit the phone in the button tab, go to Button > Phone
Make sure you include the full number with country code without any spaces and characters, only numbers. If you’re not sure about your full phone you can send a message through Whatsapp to a fried.
