1) Could you check this link and let us know which versions of your site are listed?

2) In some cases, this workaround has helped users:

— From the WordPress dashboard under Settings > General, could you change the WordPress address and the Site address from https:// to https://. You may be logged out and prompted to log back in to your site. These are the settings.

— Return to the settings, change the values back from https:// to https:// again.

— Reset Site Kit and attempt the setup process again.

Hi, I am also having this problem, new install of WordPress and only plugins are Elementor Pro, Rank Math SEO, Really Simple SSL just installed Site Kit and am getting this error, have tried your above suggesting and it has not made any difference. I did not reset site kit as do not have the option – still at start setup stage.

@sandrabowers thanks for reporting. Could you open a new support topic so we can track your case specifically? Providing your Site Health information may be helpful too. We’re working on a fix for the issue now, so we’ll be able to assist you further there.

@babii we released a fix for the issue our side, which doesn’t require a plugin update.

Could you attempt the setup process anew from the Site Kit dashboard and let us know if you able to proceed?

To fix this error, you have to Check your site settings: In your WordPress dashboard, go to Settings > General. Verify that your WordPress Address (URL) either matches your Site Address (URL) or contains your full Site Address (URL) in its address, If you have an HTTPS website, make sure that both URLs have an HTTPS prefix.

Then, Switch your active WordPress theme: To default WordPress theme such as Twenty Nineteen.

Also, install Site Kit with an incognito/private window.

lastly, Temporarily disable any potential security/ad blocker or firewall software: Before you set up Site Kit, temporarily disable software such as firewall or security applications running on your computer or your web hosting provider. After you successfully set up Site Kit, you can enable the security, ad blocker, or firewall software. For more information, check the known limitations.
