“Invalid login details” caused by WP Cerber when login and using 2FA

  • Hello,
    I am using WordFence security plugin with 2FA, and I was using WP-Cerber with reCaptcha since long time with no issues, but yesterday after updating many plugins including WordFence security plugin, now when I try to login after entering the username & password and solving the reCapcha, and moving to next step of entering the 2FA login code, after entering the 2FA login code and hit enter, I get a message says “Invalid login details” !!

    For some reason WP-Cerber is blocking the login with this message after entering the 2FA!!

    I disabled the plugin WP-Cerber from my backend and tried to login again and the login was successful.

    so the problem is with WP-Cerber plugin.

    why is this happening?! why WP-Cerber is blocking the login when using 2FA and generating this message “Invalid login details” ?!!

    Seems nobody from this WP Cerber plugin developer cares even to reply… what kind of a security plugin is this?!! I will delete it…

    WordPress was right to block this plugin and remove it from WP repository
