Invalid formula after upgrading WordPress

  • Hello,

    after upgrading WordPress to version 3.8 and Jazzy Forms to verion 0.11, the forms don’t work. I’ve set “output” visibilty to always, just to check if there is something wrong, and yes, it says “invalid formula”. I’ve tested with a simple formula like “a + b” and it doesn’t work. Is there any issue with 3.8 wordpress version? Do you have any idea of what is wrong? Thanks.

    Thanks for reporting that. I’ve tested Jazzy Forms version 0.11 on WordPress 3.8 and its default themes without any problem. It seems to be some kind of interaction with the theme you are using or other plugins. Could you please try to switch to a default theme and disable other plugins, just to eliminate possible causes?

    Jazzy Form’s “invalid formula” text is actually misleading because it generally indicates that there is a problem with the front-end Javascript. The nasty thing about Javascript is that any error anywhere on the page can break all the rest.

    I’m having the same issue. There does indeed appear to be an issue with the java script. I’m receiving the following error.

    ReferenceError: jazzy_forms is not defined

    WIth v1.0 compability has improved with some themes and plugins that move scripts from the header to the footer. Does this solve your issues?

    Hi, Igor! Your plugin is awesome. I like it’s intuitive interface and simple design and lot of opportunities. I use v.1.0

    It seems I have a problem with my theme, based on Foundation4 framework by Zurb. I have no any error messages, but my formula doesn’t work. On defaul theme all works great.

    If you have a time, you could download this theme there in order to help me to resolve a problem.

    Hi balanmarina. First of all, thank you for your nice words.

    Your problem is specific to your theme. I’ve taken a look at your theme and this is what I found.

    The theme uses WordPress funcion wp_deregister_script() in order to explicitly get rid of the jQuery library. This doesn’t seem to be a great idea because it will not only break Jazzy Forms but any other plugin that relies on this popular library that is bundled with WordPress. I suggest you inform the theme’s author about this issue. Otherwise you are welcome to ask me for tech support at [email protected]

    I understand where is the problem, due to you ))). I’ll try to fix that. This is an old Foundation+Wordpress “lovely” moment, as it turned out.
