When I upload a document to a file list on the front end I’m getting this error on the next page after upload completes:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/customer/..[site]../wp-content/plugins/simple-file-list/ee-list-display.php on line 299

Wondering if this is a bug? Just updated to the new version of this plugin today.

This warning indicates that there are no files to list.

Did it once work, but now does not?

Does this happen for each file you attempt to upload?

Does it happen on the back-side, the front-side or both?

I know that this error wasn’t happening last time that I was using the plugin.

    Yes, each file.

    Front end, not back end.

Can you please confirm that you are running the latest versions of each plugin?

    Simple File List: 4.1.3
    Folder Extension: 2.1
    Search Extension: 2.0.8

If these are current, try deactivating the search and seeing if that’s the issue.

Yes, all updated. But I don’t have the search add on.

Seems that it started happening after recent update of the plugin.

Strange that it works on the back side, but not the front-side. Other than the shortcode display process, the plugin uses the same code to list the files front and back.

I am not hearing of any issues after update from anyone else. Curious what’s going on here.

Disable the folder plugin temporarily and see if that allows the list to load.

Try creating a new test page and place just the basic shortcode on it…

I tried disabling the Folder add on, but no change.

The file still gets uploaded, but the user who is uploading the file is presented with this after the upload completes (see this screen shot): https://monosnap.com/file/yEJCf2V4OddzC7txJx2gWhc3vwd94E

I also tried it on a different page and it did the same thing.

I tried two different uploads, a JPG and a PDF. Both went smoothly.

The next step would be to turn on debugging so we can see the error logs…

This issues has been fixed in Simple File List 4.2.1

Great! So it was a bug?

Yes, not to be confused with a virus.
