Intra-post boxed content?
-
I was wondering if anyone had any plugin or coding suggestions for adding contextual, in-post additional content to an article.
Traditionally, they would use the word “sidebar” in publishing to describe this. But I’m avoiding using that word since sidebar in WordPress means the right and left sides of a post.
I’m referring to different, but contextually related information.
For example, take a look at Wired.com since they do this a lot. On this post about the future of money, there is a sidebar inside the article on it’s right side entitled “Money Over Time”.
That’s what I want to do!
I want to be able to place it like I can place a picture – in the article, but text can flow around it.
But it doesn’t seem possible out of the box. And I don’t know what keywords to search for since sidebar turns up so much other stuff.
I had some ideas:
– Maybe use a <div> with a custom defined class and some custom Javascript and CSS to render it.
– Or maybe, it’s a job for an iFrame.Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance!
George
