Running Zotpress 7.0.3 on WP 5.1.1 multisite

First, thanks for a fantastic plugin it does a great many things we’re looking to accomplish. Its been really helpful for various literature collections permitting us to summarize and display in one place very disparate literature. For stand alone bibliographies driven by tags, things are humming along. However, we’re experiencing some difficulty with a few isolated applications of in-text shortcodes. The following is an example:

    [zotpressInText item="{BPXPFQ3F}" format="(%a% %d%)"]
    Displays properly

    [zotpressInText item="{BPXPFQ3F,91}" format="(%a% %d%: %p%)"]
    Displays properly

    [zotpressInText item="{BPXPFQ3F,97}" format="(%a% %d%: %p%)"]
Breaks all of the citations resulting in spinning wheels with elements like (:97).

    Here is what I’ve tried:

    1. Clearing the cache.
    2. Placing those three shortcodes into a new blank post. It produces the same results described above. If I remove the page number from the third item, all of the entries display properly.
    3. If I change the page number of the third item, it still breaks
    4. If I remove a page number from the third item but put a page number in the first item, it works. However, if I copy the first item to the third place–then it breaks again.

At this point, we’re having to eliminate the final reference, but it would be useful to understand what is the underlying issue. We have this problem on a couple of isolated pages. Any help or suggestions would be most appreciated.

  • I’m seeing this as well (ZotPress 7.0.3 on WP 5.1.1). Clearing the cache doesn’t seem to have made any difference… my inline references are spinning wheels with markup like this:

    <span id="zp-InText-zp-ID-555715--SU5RN3PK--296-1" class="zp-InText-Citation loading" rel="{ 'api_user_id': '555715', 'pages': '', 'items': '{SU5RN3PK}', 'format': '(%a%, %d%, %p%)', 'brackets': '', 'etal': '', 'separator': '', 'and': '' }"></span>

No errors or other info are thrown to the JS console.

This is very odd indeed. Just changing the page number from 91 to 97 causes a break?

Well, it looks like after refining the in-text code, this issue has resolved itself. But do let me know if you still encounter this issue in the next version of Zotpress.
