How do I interpret these log files? I am not well versed in all of this since that’s not my business but I’m trying to take care of my web site.

There is a lot of activity from this IP address all the time and I am concerned about what this activity actually is. I suspect it is not just someone accessing my web site looking at it.
There is only one administrator and that is me and this is not my IP address.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Thank you for the answers. That makes is much more clear what is going on.
I think that avoiding the extra step of going to the orders page in the dashboard is not worth compromising anything or trying to code some sort of exception like at the link you posted.

    Thank you,
    Mark

    Hi,
Since I just installed an update I saw these messages when I reloaded the dashboard page after it gave me an error when I attempted to change to the IP Geoblock settings dirrectly from the Dashboard page rather than from the Plugins:settings for IP Geeoblock.

IP Geo Block: /home/landmp6/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/ip-geo-block/classes/class-ip-geo-block-logs.php (519) Unknown column ‘asn’ in ‘field list’

IP Geo Block: /home/landmp6/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/ip-geo-block/classes/class-ip-geo-block-logs.php (685) Unknown column ‘asn’ in ‘field list’

Also when I go to the IP Geoblock settings page I see this at the top of the window now.

IP Geo Block: /home/landmp6/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/ip-geo-block/classes/class-ip-geo-block-logs.php (685) Unknown column ‘asn’ in ‘field list’

Are these related? Do I need to make any changes to my settings due to the update?

    Thanks,

    HI,

I’m wondering what causes this error and this log entry when I try to clear the logs on IPGeoBlock?
This occurs intermittently and randomly when logged in and within the WordPress Dashboard when accessing things like IP Geoblock, Woocommerce products, etc.

I can usually get around it if I kill off all my browser windows and start all over again, but I’d like to see if there is something I can do to prevent the occurrence.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Sorry, your request cannot be accepted.

Hmmmm, at this point nothing will allow me to clear the logs without encountering this error?
I’ve tried closing everything, reopening the site, logging out, closing everything, logging in, deleting the cachd, closing everything, and starting over.

The log appears to get cleared leaving the one wp-zep entry from my IP address that creates the error page with the link back to the dashboard.

OK, so I did everything again using a different browser (Firefox) instead of Chrome and it worked that time. I use Chrome mostly since it is much faster than Firefox when working on my web site.

Is there something that perhaps I am doing wrong that creates this situation?

    Hi Mark,

I’m afraid that you have some JavaScript errors. Could you investigate it using your browser’s debugging tool?

The following documents may help you.

I think you had better to disable “Prevent Zero-day Exploit” if you find js errors and until you fix them. But I’m afraid that you can’t “Save Changes” properly. In that case, please try to find which plugins or themes would cause the error to activate/deactivate one by one.

If you need some help to use browser’s developer tools, please let me know.

    Thread Starter Mark Housel

    (@mark-housel)

    Thank you for the links.

So I tried some of these things and it does seem to be specific to Chrome right now, although it had been much more random before this morning. Now it is a hard failure every time in Chrome, but not in Firefox.

This is the error that it showed the first time I tried it.
wikibits.js:243 Uncaught ReferenceError: mediaWiki is not defined
    at wikibits.js:243

Now each time I try the same thing and get the error, I see this. Even closing the browser and restarting the entire process this is the only error I see now which seems to be the source of the error message that I see when trying to clear the logs. The previous one never showed up again.

options-general.php Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 400 (Bad Request)

This appears to be the file that generates the error screen.

    <body id=”error-page”>
<p>Sorry, your request cannot be accepted.
    <p>« Dashboard</p></p></body>
    </html>

I’ve no idea what that means.

    Hi Mark,

I’ve no idea what that means.

When you enable “Prevent Zero-day Exploit” and once a js error happens, this may happen. I could not find any related information about wikibits.js on google. So if you find which plugin/theme uses wikibits.js, it may help to solve the issue. But there’s a possibility that it is not related to PC (I think you’re using Windows, right?).

Anyway, you should back to the basics. Please try deactivate all plugins and change theme to the default, then activate plugins one by one.

    Thread Starter Mark Housel

    (@mark-housel)

    Yes, I am using windows.

The js error involving wikibits.js happened

      only one time ever

. All subsequent errors that I have ever seen are the second one.

options-general.php Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 400 (Bad Request)

So, I just turn off the Admin area WP-ZEP function clear the logs and then turn it back on or use Firefox.

    Hi,

Would you give me more detailed information?

    1. Where do you find the error message (Console in Developer tool?)
    2. Which resource was failed to load? (See Network in Developer tool)
    3. Which page or tab? (“Logs” tab? or How about “Settings” tab?)
    4. Do you select “400 Bad Request” as “Response code” in “Validation rule settings” section?
    5. Could you copy & paste the result of “Show information” at “System information” in “Plugin settings” section?

options-general.php Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 400 (Bad Request)

I wonder this might be an internal error caused by browser’s prefetch.

Try to disable “Use a prediction service to load pages more quickly.” on “advanced settings” in Chrome. See Step 4: Make sure page prefetch is on.

OR make “User messages only” checked on “Console settings” in Chrome Dev Tool. The internal error caused by prefetch will disappear.

After turning on debugging as you suggested, when the error occurred, I used the CTRL-SHIFT-J to get to the error console.

I have the following check boxes selected- Preserve Log Log XMLHttpRequests, Show timestamps Autocomplete from history

The log files that I captured begins at the Dashboard, goes to IP Geoblock Logs tab, and then to clearing the logs and the error that occurs.
These logs were generated with the advanced prefetch settings for Chrome changed as you suggested.

This seems to be the bottom line: This GET seems to be seen as a bad request and generates the error.
    admin.min.js?ver=3.0.4.1:6 GET https://www.landmprecisiongunworks.com/wordpress/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=ip-geo-block&tab=4&ip-geo-block-auth-nonce=f0a5fbd85a 400 (Bad Request)

Which page or tab? (“Logs” tab? or How about “Settings” tab?)

I am no longer seeing that error message? An error occurs but I don’t see the resource error any more. Perhaps because I turned off the prefetch in Chrome?

    > Do you select “400 Bad Request” as “Response code” in “Validation rule settings” section?

    Hi Mark,

Thank you so much for your time to test and report in detail.

According to your report, “prefetch” in Chrome seem to have no relation to this issue. I’m sorry but please re-configure your Chrome as the original settings. And I have to head in a different direction.

    From the information you pasted:

    – Server: Apache
    – PHP: 7.0.22
    – …
    – XCloner – Site Backup and Restore 4.0.4
    – 2017-09-10 12:45:06 wp-zep GET:/wordpress/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=ip-geo-block&tab=4&ip-geo-block-auth-nonce=…

I could find that no javascript error occurred but “Prevent Zero-day Exploit” in “Admin area” caused this issue.

So, for the time being until I can find the cause of this issue, please disable “Prevent Zero-day Exploit” when you encounter “400 (Bad Request)”.

I will investigate which plugin conflicts with IPGB according to your plugin list. I’m afraid it will take certain time. So please keep watch this thread.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks for taking the time to look into this. Since I know that I have a workaround by disabling the Zero Day Exploit in the Admin area it isn’t such a big deal.

If there is any other information that I can gather let me know.

    Mark
