• I recently picked up some scare ware which affects only my WP log-in page. Periodically a red screen pop-up with the subject title appears saying it is from Microsoft and advising my computer is infected with a horrible virus. There are also phone numbers I’m supposed to contact for a solution (which I haven’t done). The only way to get rid of the pop-up screen is shutting down the browser in Task Manager. AVG Live hasn’t been able to resolve this and scanning with AVG doesn’t detect it. So far it’s just an irritation but I don’t know what it’s doing and I don’t know if I’m passing it on to my blog visitors, (my host says no but I’m not so sure). It has infected both computers I use to log-in to WP. This morning I discovered my WP log-in page is not secure and I suppose the log-in credentials have been compromised. I would be most grateful for any help you can offer.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Your site is black listed, see the scan results: https://sitecheck.sucuri.net/results/www.mercomatic.com

If you believe your website has been hacked, carefully follow this guide. When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures.

Mod: Suggests you truncate that link too. The site has what appears to be Chrome specific malware distribution embedded.

I don’t know what you mean.

If anyone clicks on the link that goes to your site, there’s a chance their devices might get infected with malware if they are viewing your website via certain browsers. While the message itself is part of a typical phishing scam, the malware also attempts to cause chrome to download a temp file, and will crash the browser.

    How do I do that?

You need to remove the malware on your host server and also find the last backup of the database which is not affected from the malware. Remove all files and uninstalled wordpress and wordpress plugin too.

Then you reinstalled wordpress platform with a new version and then upload the the database which doesn’t have the malware. That will solve your issue

I believe the infection has been removed and the site is safe again. Can we please arrange to get it off the Black List and remove whatever other sanctions are in place?
    Reimage Repair services were used.

www.remarpro.com has nothing to do with such list.

www.remarpro.com provides the software for other people to use their own sites on their own hosts.

    Contact your hosting provider.

If you’re unable to clean your site(s) successfully, there are reputable organizations that can clean your sites for you. Off hand, couple of names that come to mind are Sucuri and Wordfence.
