    Hi there,

When my site automatically updated to WordPress 4.5.2, it broke (!) because of some sort of compatibility issue with Popupmaker. I have deactivated the plugin and the site is up and running again, but I am unable to delete the inactive plugin. I get the following internal server error message when I try:

    Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Any help would be much appreciated!

    Cheers

@sydneyaharris – First sorry to hear that, but I have to say that it has been heavily tested on WP 4.5.2+, even our live site uses that combo. Can you check your PHP error logs? Sounds like possibly the Popup Maker plugin files have become corrupted, Maybe try deleting them manually then reinstalling fresh.

Your PHP error logs during the time you get server errors will tell us exactly what is happening.

    Heya,

I went in and checked my error logs, and I pasted some of the text below- is that helpful for meaningful to you/anyone? I also went in to my FileManager and manually deleted the plugin files from there, which was successful.

I know that several months ago I was running into some trouble with a few other plugins and my host recommended reverting to PHP 5.3, which I’m still running. Is it possible that this caused the problem during the upgrade?

@sydneyaharris – Hmm, if those are the only errors you see they are related to your theme and the maintenance plugin. Not seeing anything related to Popup Maker.

Have you tried installing it again and deleting it again, could have just been a one time glitch that we can never track down.

Yeah, I’m not sure what was going on. But as I said I was able to manually delete it from my FileManager so we’re all good. Haven’t tried re-installing for now, but if I get around do it soon I’ll let you know how it goes. My theme probably updated at the same time as WordPress (can’t remember exactly), so perhaps it wasn’t the WordPress update but the theme update that caused the issue in the first place.

@sydneyaharris – Not a problem, closing this ticket for now. Let me know if you end up testing it again.
