• When I try to backup my site I get the message:

    Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, root@localhost and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Any Ideas on how to solved this? Thks

    Dear all,

we appreciate your due diligence and have re-notified our developer of this issue. If there is any more information that we can find, we will post here.

Unfortunately due to the variety of hosting platforms we are not able to support this plugin on all hosts and/or for backups larger than 100mb. A lot of our problems lately are related to Godaddy hosting, which in our opinion should not be used for WordPress websites.

However we appreciate any information that you give us as it will help improve the software

    Best regards,

Godaddy has WordPress-specific hosting and I use it all the time. They aren’t the problem. Frustrating that I’ve spent so much time (same errors as everyone here) trying to make a plugin work that is designed to save me time.

I too am getting an error trying to restore a one page website clone from a clean 1 page godaddy hosted website to a clean new godaddy hosted website

    See error image below

I am also getting this message- Internal Server Error-The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator and inform them of the time the error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error.

Zip file was 45 MB. The restore ran for about 30 seconds before getting this error.

@kvgorham try the suggestion I made on the other thread.

@rich0845 could you send your server’s php error logs to [email protected]?

    WP Academy,
I did it. I copied the zip file to the new website folder…
    ‘/home/content/-/-/html/wp-content/uploads/wp-clone/’

Then went to the new site clicked restore and pasted the restore file there again and clicked it.

    Restore Successful!

    Thank you soooooooo much

Twice now in the past month, I have been migrating from development (hosted on GoDaddy) to production- also on GoDaddy – and have encountered the same error as is listed earlier in this thread (https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-oerdQeauTc8/UcHjzZ5VHPI/AAAAAAAAFVE/RpTCYEOvMAw/w522-h126-no/wp-clone.jpg)

With this product, it is critically important to note that we are not looking for backups- we are looking for restores- backups work fine- but don’t restore…. Unfortunately, I ended up doing a brute force file by file copy to move the site- and get it up and running.

I have used WP Clone successfully in the past- most of my web sites are in the 15 to 25 mb range, well below the specification- However, now it appears to be unreliable- scary! I should mention, before I posted this note, I tried all of the work-arounds listed in the forum- to no avail- any feedback will be appreciated.

I’m on godaddy, and used dthe method mentioned above by kvgorham

I copied my backup from the source site to the target site to:

    ‘/home/content/-/-/html/wp-content/uploads/wp-clone/’

(I had already made a clone backup of the other site, so I copied the new backup to the file name of the old one, there may be a better way for it to appear in the list)

Then I clicked restore through the GUI and it worked.

I too was having issues with GoDaddy, but, kvgorham’s solution works like a charm. Thank you, kvgorham.
