Hi,

I get a recurring error when I click directly to Live Traffic or Blocking tab on Wordfence in Admin panel.
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator at webmaster@*****.*** to inform them of the time this error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
There is nothing on the server log. And this happens after the last several updates of the plugin.

Thanks in advance.

Hi @newsarena,

I believe the error was due to the recent update. Some files might have been updated on your server, but not all of them.

Can you reinstall Wordfence and let me know if you still get the internal server errors?

Well,
I delete the plugin, installed again and there is again the same error. Then I decided to clean all Wordfence traces – deleted user.ini file, wordfence-waf.php file, wflogs folder, Wordfence rules in .htaccess file (without this my site was not accessible). Then installed again the plugin. So far it is working good without errors.
But I’m curious, with the new installation, the plugin does not re-create these files except the wflogs folder. Are they no longer needed? Everything is working fine.

UPDATE
I don’t think Wordfence is working. There is no activity. Maybe these files are mandatory. And the mentioned Internal Server Error come back again.

Hi again,

Did you delete anything after the re-installation? Those files within the wp-content/plugins/wordfence are mandatory, however you can delete the wp-content/wflogs folder anytime to refresh the rules.

Can you find your server’s error_log?

@wfdave

Hi,
I deleted the whole plugin + user.ini file, wordfence-waf.php file, wflogs folder, Wordfence rules in .htaccess file
Reinstalled from the scratch. But these files mentioned above did not re-created after the new installation. However, the plugin is working without them. There is no warning that I have to create it again. So far, Wordfence is working flawlessly without errors.
There is no error_log file created on my server. Nor in public_html, nor in my root directory.

Regards.
