I am getting the 500 Internal Server Error when I try to log into wp-admin. It will not even go to the page. The website mylincolnchiro.com is working fine, but I cannot change it obviously if I can’t log in.

It happened when I tried to update to 4.1 and it kicked me to the 500 Internal Service Error page. I was able to update to 4.1 through my domain service provider hoping the update would fix the issue, but no luck.

I tried deactivating Plugins through File Manager, deleted .htaccess, and tried a few other tips with no success.

I ran an error log, so hopefully this will help and someone can point me in the right direction:

    Thanks for the help!

  • What exactly is “ssv3_backup_payload-hCWbWs7TPo.php” and “ssv3_payload_extractor-Tzg1mOTtAJ.php”? Did you add them?

These are not WordPress files. If you don’t know what they are, back them up by downloading them to your PC and then delete them from your hosting account.

I do not know what those files are. I was able to find “ssv3_backup_payload-hCWbWs7TPo.php” and backup then delete it. I could not find the other file even with search.

Still gives me the 500 Internal Server Error. Also, now my website is down, yesterday is was still working, but this morning it give me “Forbidden, You do not have permission to access / on this server.

After trying many other things, I went and deleted everything and restored a backup from a week ago. It seems to have worked, but I have to re-do some of the updates I did since then. Lesson learned.
