• Hi,

I was trying to access my links, but am getting the error message below:

    “Internal Server Error

“The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

“Please contact the server administrator and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

“More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
“Apache Server at justice-liberty.com Port 80”

    I’d appreciate your help.

  • Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

What is the url you are trying to visit that is causing the problem? If you get the right combination of encoded characters in an URL you can trigger that error. Despite my protests, our writers like to put all manner of curly quotes, bullet points, and other things in the titles. Once in awhile they hit on the right combination and trigger a 500 or 400 error.

Also, your “Home” link is broken. It points to “https://192.168.1.2:8888/”. Maybe the result of a transfer from a development server?

    Hi s_ha_dum,

My site is https://justice-liberty.com. I had a web developer customize the theme and install it just a couple of days ago. I know little about PHP and never used phpMyAdmin. Can you help?

    Thank a lot.
    Mustafa

I looked at your site (the address is in the error you posted in your opening question) but my question was what is the “url you are trying to visit that is causing the problem”? That ‘root’ URL works fine and so do the half dozen or so links I clicked, so what are you clicking (or doing) when you get that error?

Thanks kmessinger, but I see no mention of an “Internal Server Error” in that report.

Malik, go to https://justice-liberty.com/wp-admin and then to Settings->General (Right-hand sidebar on the admin pages). Make sure the WordPress address is correct. It should be https://justice-liberty.com not https://192.168.1.2:8888/

It shows a non-public IP address and many fragmented links like
https://www.dailystar.com.lb/Opinion/Commentary/2012/May-30/175059-germany-must-not-destroy-the-european-order-for-a-third-time.ashx#axzz1wFGApWy6 (line 529) which is probably not caused by the server unless these are hot-linked?

Anyway, over my head so I will bow out.

Yeah, I spotted that non-public address. It is his ‘Home’ link. I hope my previous post will help him fix that.

I’ve got to figure out why it is complaining about the fragmented links. I’ve never thought about that before, but none of the links are actually broken that I can tell, much less triggering a server error.
