And that is happening somehow, not sure how, because I load the event in my browser, then copy and paste it into the url box and hit save. Something is changing the calendar slug there.

Hmm. That’s strange; My Calendar doesn’t do any content filtering that I can recall or find; whatever you write in the event description should just stay as you wrote it.

The content does go through other WordPress content filters, so it could conceivably come from some other plugin, but that would be a pretty strange thing.

If you go in and edit the event to change the URL again, does it fix the issue?

I don’t know how the slug issue was moving between eventcalendar and smartevents like that. But I decided to make the permalink the same as the calendar and renamed it to eventcalendar, and now the links work.

Side note: The View Full Calendar link at the bottom of every event, links back to the event, not to the main calendar. Doesn’t matter which event is being viewed at the time, the link will go the event being viewed. I don’t know how many viewers use that link, just something I noticed. The calendar works otherwise, just fine.
