• I have just set up a blog including a number of Pages, Categories, Links, etc. in the right hand column. The (external) links that I have created work just fine. But whenever I click on a Category, Page or Archive, I get a message that says the link is broken. This is true of all of the internal links that should have been created.

    I’m using the default thems.

How can I repair these links?

I finally solved the problem, so for anyone else’s benefit. I’ll explain what I did.

Under: Settings/Permalinks, at the very bottom of the page, I found some code and an explanation that it needed to be placed in the .htaccess file, or that file needs to be made writable–which mine wasn’t.

This code is apparently essential to allowing for any updates or rewrites. Sounded important to me, and it solved the problem. (So why is it not a little more prominently displayed?)
