Internal Advertising

I’m looking to showcase a site’s sponsors. I’m thinking a widget in the sidebar with rotating images of sponsors with a link to their website. When I look for ad management plugins, they all seems to work with ad networks, which is something I don’t want or need. I want to keep it light. I could go the route of a random image display widget, but I would like to have some statistics as well, to how many times an ad was shown, unique views, clicks, etc.
Any suggestions?

I recommend Advanced Ads. I use it on two sites that have a similar ad situation. The ads we use are local community businesses, and we display eight or so ads in the sidebar.
You can display multiple ads at once or rotate ads in one spot on a timer or with each page refresh.
With Advanced Ads, you can display images/ads in the sidebar that link to that ads’ website. The paid version has statistics so you can monitor impressions and clicks for each ad.
