Dear Anton,

We have previously discussed this problem with my use of the Offload Media to Cloudflare Images plugin. I have six webpages with intermittent problems loading images, so my Google Performance score drops when this occurs. The six webpages causing this issue include:
Do you have a timeline for addressing this issue, which is probably occurring for other users of your plugin? If not, I have been considering an option to evaluate, which may improve performance, and also reduce my cost.

My website is hosted on Cloudways and is served to visitors from my Cloudflare Pro account, and Cloudways now has an option available for customers to use Cloudflare Enterprise for serving their webpages. This option using Cloudflare Enterprise uses Polish for Image Optimization, and Mirage for Mobile Optimization. You can see the details for the Cloudways – Cloudflare Enterprise integration on the following URLs:
In your opinion, will the Performance issue for the six pages listed above still exist when using the Cloudways – Cloudflare Enterprise integration? I am looking forward to your opinion on this subject.

Dear Anton,

I had the opportunity today to enable the Cloudways – Cloudflare Enterprise option for my website. I had to make a few changes to my Cloudflare DNS to get it online, and I did not Deactivate the Offload Media to Cloudflare Images?plugin. Cloudflare Images appears to work with the Cloudways – Cloudflare Enterprise option. A small Google Pagespeed Performace increase noted for each page of my website. However, the six webpages discussed above are still having intermittent Performance issues.

If time permits, I will do an experiment on Sunday by Deactivating the Offload Media to Cloudflare Images?plugin, and only using Cloudflare Enterprise to serve images using the Cloudflare Polish and Cloudflare Mirage utilities. I will let you know how this changes the performance of my website.

Hi @dr-scott-best,

I have seen similar issues on lab tests. The first load in a region could be a bit slower, because Cloudflare optimizes the images “live”, after that the images are cached for 2 days (you can set custom caching if serving from a custom domain). However, please keep in mind that a Google PageSpeed test is a simulation. If your site has enough visitors, you can see the Core Web Vitals which are the real performance metrics from the users. And they should show that there is no issues.

I’ll be doing some more tests on how this can be improved. Maybe it might be possible to set up a Worker that will bypass uncached images and serve those directly from the website.
