I have a weird thing happening that just began this week. At least, my client is reporting it; I have not been able to replicate it. Also, it doesn’t happen all the time. Some customers are trying to check out and get the error “Please enter your address to continue” but the address is entered. Other orders go through just fine. I can’t find a commonality among those who are reporting the error other than they all have customer accounts, but the orders that go through also have accounts.

Shipping is limited to a specific list of ZIP codes. The checkout form does not include state or country. I have seen reports of not having the country causing this issue, but it seems it should be all the time, not intermittently.

Since I can’t replicate it, the usual testing method of turning off all the other plugins has yielded nothing. The theme is a child of Storefront along with Beaver Builder Pro and Beaver Themer. Let me know what other info you need.

    Hi @sallyinstc,

I see that you’ve disabled the state/country field on the checkout form and this could throw such a notice when the form is submitted.

Just to assess further, have you checked for patterns in terms of the payment methods used by customers getting through checkout?

I could recommend adding back the removed address fields on the checkout form and instead setting the country/state to a default as explained in this documentation.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

    Hi @abwaita,

I am trying to find out if payment methods vary. We only use Stripe as the processor.

I will try adding in the default state and country. I am just not clear on why it is intermittent, though.

The users reporting trouble completing orders have completed orders in the past. They have used credit cards on all of those orders. I doubt they would use a different method for these new orders.

In my test environment, I tried adding a flat rate for shipping addresses outside of the covered zones. That only triggers when the delivery address is outside the zone, so works as expected.

Turning on Debug yielded a warning from Order Delivery Date Pro plugin: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /wp-content/plugins/order-delivery-date/orddd-common.php on line 8713. I don’t know if this is related or not. This plugin has been in place since the beginning, but the problem only started last week.

I should note I did also add the snippet for default country and state. But, since I can’t replicate the error I have no idea if it is working or not. Any thoughts from any one are welcome.

    Thanks for getting back @sallyinstc.

For now, it’s quite hard to tell, but with all the fields present on the checkout form, the validation error should not be an issue since buyers will see and fill the necessary fields.
If the problem is reported again, maybe you could update us with additional details so that we can troubleshoot further.

*As for the warning, it’s for a third-party plugin so we might not have many insights here. However, if it persists, you could opt to get in touch with the plugin authors: https://www.tychesoftwares.com/store/premium-plugins/order-delivery-date-for-woocommerce-pro-21/.

    Thanks.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
