• Dear support,

    We’ve been experiencing an issue since the release of 1.5.0 ad even with the recent 1.5.1 update where application related emails such as those being sent by our theme and plugins like wordfence are no longer being sent (received by recipient).

    Testing WP system related emails such as password resets, etc. work fine however web app related functionality is no longer working. We’ve tested this on a number of different platforms that we operate and all produce the same result.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi @dciphered,

    So you are saying that v1.4.x was working totally fine and all emails – default by WordPress and custom by plugins like Wordfence – were sent and received. And after update to v1.5.1 default WP emails are received, but all custom by others plugins are not received. Is that correct?

    1. Could you please share you mailer?
    2. Does Email Test inside WP Mail SMTP admin area is working for you (you receive that email)?
    3. Have you tried downgrading to 1.4.2? If yes – is everything starting to work again or not? If haven’t downgraded – could you please try that. I need to understand, whether this is the issue with 1.5.x or not.
    4. What does “number of different platforms” mean? Do you have several servers? As I undertand, this is not a shared hosting but something custom built? If yes, do you have any kind of opcache enabled on a server? If there is an opcache – could you please clear it and try again?

    Hi Slava,

    Yes correct, all was working prior to the recent updates. Just an FYI, I’ve actually installed a different SMTP plugin to validate my assumptions and I can validate that everything works as it should. Reverting to WP SMTP Mail causes the issue again.

    1. I’m using Amazon SES as the configured mailer.
    2. Yes it does, test emails work fine.
    3. Yes i downgraded and things appeared to work ok however I did notice that some emails were arriving intermittently, not consistently.
    4. Meaning, that we have a few WP servers with sites, including our Prod and Dev boxes and all of them were experiencing the same issue. Also, Yes, Opcache is enabled however as I mentioned before, the other SMTP plugins we’ve tested work without hiccup.

    Something’s definitely gone wrong since 1.5x.
