• I have a form on a site that is hosted on GoDaddy, but email for my domain is handled through Outlook.com (redirected through the DNS zone file). Receipt of emails from my form is sporadic with one or more coming through and then one or more being lost. I haven’t been able to determine any pattern – time, email address, etc. don’t seem to make any difference.
What I am wondering is if this is related to the known problems with GoDaddy or if it is a problem with Outlook.com? I have been thinking of switching to HostGator (as recommended by Mr. Challis), but don’t want to go through the hassle if it won’t make a difference.
    Thank you for your assistance.
    Mike

  • Hi mrosen try the following URL see if this helps you.

I tried both method 1 and 2. No changes. Method 2 didn’t work with GoDaddy’s smtp server – I’m guessing because I’m using Outlook.com for my email – and I don’t remember ever getting it to work with Outlook.com’s smtp. I will try again.

I was wrong. I was unable to get Method 2 to work with Outlook.com’s smtp. With GoDaddy’s smtp, the smtp plugin test sends immediately to my @att.net email address, but I get nothing to my @hotmail.com address. The same happens with the FSCF plugin test. Filling out the form, I get nothing if I use my @hotmail.com address and I get the confirmation email with the @att.net address, but no email from the form.
I decided to try sending the form’s email to my att.net address and it comes through. So I guess one problem is that GoDaddy is not sending to Hotmail/outlook addresses.
    Any more suggestions?

    Thank you,
    Mike

I tried using my gmail account with the smtp plugin (as described here: https://www.fastsecurecontactform.com/email-does-not-send), but I get the following message when I do a test: SMTP -> ERROR: Failed to connect to server: Connection refused (111).

Hi If the above URL helped you a bit and you still have issues, then I would suggest that you contact GoDaddy and explain to them your problem. This is more a server issue then a plugin issue.

I hope this helps you further.

My renew date with GoDaddy is almost here and I was thinking about switching to HostGator. Do you think this would solve my problems (and would it be easier than trying to convince GoDaddy that this is their problem :o)?
    Mike

I think you probably have heard many Web developers say that they don’t think too highly of GoDaddy in regards to WordPress, Joomla etc CMS systems.

Hostgator is a great host and so is Bluehost, Justhost and Dreamhost.

So yeah moving away from GoDaddy will probably fix this issue for you ??

    Regards

PS If this issue is resolved plugin wise can you mark this support thread as resolved.
