Intermitten – Error establishing a database connection driving me nuts!!

    I have a website where we have some of the most beautiful leather pant models in the world, but we are having issues all the time with database connection problems.

    We are getting this error: “Error establishing a database connection” at least 20 to 50 times a day. The website will run okay for about 30 minutes and then all of a sudden we get the database connection error. The error will stay in place for about 2 minutes the connection comes back ok. We have spoken with our web host and they say it is all fine and I have personally checked to make sure that my wp-config file is setup right. If someone with database connections can assist, I would love to speak to you.

    – If the error is intermittent then it’s your server. What’s happening is that the web server and/or the database server are gettign overloaded and the connection is droping out or is refused for a short time. That gives you the database error as the website can’t connect to the database. To fix this, you’ll need to talk to your hosting company as they are the only ones that can do anything about hardware issues like this.

    If its intermittent throughout the day, its generally not your website itself. This issue is going to be due to your web hosting provider. Since it is intermittent, its hard to track and prove that its due to the server because when you call in, “everything looks fine”. I recommend moving hosting providers to something a bit more reliable. If you need steps or help with moving, just let me know.
