    Hi,

I’ve been working on a site with a premium theme and found intergalactic and I just love the layout. There some things I need help with please.

    1. How can I make the header text white? I have chosen that in the header section but it seems to resolve black and when I hover over it it flashes white for a split second.

    2. I would like to remove the Edit link that appears under each read more link for each post on the main page and also under the text of each page. I’m guessing that appears because I’m working on the site but just want to be sure that it never appears to the public.

    3. Not sure what happened my featured images for posts (main page) resolved fine initially, yet now they are appearing much darker than the images I uploaded. You can see the exact same images on any page under the header and there much brighter.

    4. How do I get the images on each page under the header to appear like in the demo, or like the posts on the main page in full width? I tried adding the pics as featured images in the pages, then no image appeared so I just adding them in the editor.

    5. Is there anyway to center the info in sidebar (widgets) that I have put within the side menu?

    6. Is there anyway to add sidebars for the pages? Or just the side menu?

    7. How can I reduce the space between my logo and the page links in the side menu?

    8. Is there anyway to remove the pages title in the side menu? Please note I did not add the title in the pages widget.

    9. How can I make the copyright text white?

Many thanks! I truly appreciate it.

I’ve deleted your post about the book. This is why we’re having a hard time helping you in the forums, you keep wandering off topic and adding more subjects

To explain the issue here, I’m going to bold this for you ??

    intergalacticdemo.wordpress.com

They are not on wordpress.ORG and yes, there is a difference. WordPress.com is a managed WordPress host. www.remarpro.com is the home of the open source product.

It can be very confusing, but generally we can’t help you with issues on WordPress.com or themes from there because their system is more limited as to what you can and cannot edit.

    Hi jlp,

All of your desired changes except adding a sidebar can be accomplished with CSS. While a demo site is better than nothing, it’s not anywhere near as good as a link to the actual page you want to change. Considering that you want to make many CSS tweaks to your site, you would be well served to learn about CSS in general, plus learning how to use your browser’s inspector tool. There are plenty of CSS tutorials that a simple web search will turn up to get you started.

The inspector tool is usually accessed through some sort of “developer” menu item in your browser, the exact location and labels vary by browser “brand” and version. A general web search should turn up exact instructions if you cannot find it on your own.

You can select various elements on a page and the related CSS is displayed. You can temporarily alter what CSS is applied. This allows you to try various directives until you zero in on just the look you want. You can then copy the CSS you like from the inspector and place it where it will be applied permanently, either your CSS plugin or a CSS file for your theme.

This is what we do when we help people with CSS, and why a real link is so important. Once you learn some CSS, you can do this yourself.

As for adding a sidebar, that requires a modest amount of coding. If you are ambitious and really want to do this, you should be able to find a tutorial that gives you the steps and code required. Even with this, if you do not understand PHP code a little, it will be very challenging to get functional results.

It’s further complicated because your theme has no sidebar at all. You’ll need to find a theme with a sidebar to use as an example. Based on your posts so far, I fear adding a sidebar will just be endless frustrations for you. I don’t think I would attempt it if I were you.

The doing your own CSS on the other hand, I believe is attainable.

It looks like you’ve already gotten a lot of great CSS customization help from volunteers – hope your site is starting to look as you’d like it to.

Sorry about the confusion between WordPress.com and www.remarpro.com – I understand that you downloaded the self-hosted version on the Intergalactic theme showcase page over at WordPress.com for use on your self-hosted site. We hope Intergalactic will soon be available for download on www.remarpro.com directly. As soon as it’s in the directory here, it’ll have its own forum, which will make getting help easier, and avoid the confusion you ran into here.

jl I’m thinking you found the solution by now for the removal of the “edit” button, I wanted to do the same.

@taleeto – if you need help, best to start your own thread on the forum for this theme –
