• Hello,

I updated the plugin from 8.2.0 to 9.0.2 and faced some problems:

    – the settings menu was gone
    – the hamburger menu (mobile menu) of my theme (customized “Atomic Blocks”) was not working any more. It seems like there was a problem loading the font-awesome icons. There was a question mark and a exclamation mark blinking in a circle.
    – the chat box on the frontend missed css-styling and javascripts (console errors)
    – The plugin UpDraftPlus (Backups) did not work any more, I tried to make a backup before switching back to 8.2.0. but the backups missed all files.

I re-installed the 8.2.0 Version out of my backups and everything works again.

There is no caching or any minimization / combination of files enabled. And I had to repair it fast, so sadly I haven`t saved any screenshots or error messages. If you want I can provide you a clone of the installation on my servers for testing.

    Thank you & kind Regards
    Tom

    Hi there,

Thank you for the feedback. We’ll definitely need to take a look at these.

-Settings Menu Gone: I’m sorry, but which settings menu are you referring to?
-AtomicBlocks menu gone: Installing the latest version of our plugin breaks another plugin?
-JSErrors: We’ll take a look at this, we’re unable to reproduce these in our test environments and so we might need your help to reproduce this. We’ll let you know.
-UpDraftPlus: Again, another plugin our plugin broke?

We will be available on Monday to take a look at these in more detail.

also mine… appear some blinking exlamations and ask marks placed all menu, header favicons, wishlist and chart icon… how to revert to older version?

“also mine… appear some blinking exlamations and ask marks placed all menu, header favicons, wishlist and chart icon… how to revert to older version?”

Same, upgrading broke the theme icons on two website and broke one entirely. Had to disable the plugin for it to work.
I can provide a test site showing this issue if need be.

I try to answer your questions more precisely:
    – the “Live Chat” menu entry in the WP Dashboard had no submenus any more
    – “Atomic Blocks” is my theme but it is customized. The font-awesome icons stopped working
    – after the update I was not able to run backups with another plugin (UpdraftPlus)

    Hi everyone,

We just released an update for the plugin (version 9.0.3) which contains fixes for the issues with font awesome icons and the bug which was responsible for interferences in other plugins’ functionality, like the referred here functionality of the “Atomic Blocks”.
Please update your plugin to the new version.

    Hi,

    thank you!

I made a staging site and tested the plugin update.

font-awesome is fixed. I still don`t see the submenus of the “Live Chat” entry in the WP Dashboard. Like Department, Webhooks, quick response, …

There is a error in the console but I think this is not related:
DevTools failed to load SourceMap: Could not load content for https://staging.scresign.de/wp-content/plugins/wp-live-chat-support/js/tcx-fa.min.js.map: HTTP error: status code 404, net::ERR_HTTP_RESPONSE_CODE_FAILURE

At the end oft the file tcx-fa.min.js you fetch the un-minimized version of the Javascript and the file is not present:
    //# sourceMappingURL=tcx-fa.min.js.map

    Hi there,

We’re going to either add or completely remove the js.map file dependency in the next version so that you don’t see this error. It’s not related to anything and doesn’t affect anything just fyi.

Glad to hear font awesome is fixed.

Regarding the missing sub-menus, you can see these if you login to your WordPress installation as an administrator. For the moment, Administrators have access to the full plugin, anyone else can only see the ‘Live Chat’ and ‘Missed Chats’ pages. In one of the next few releases you’ll be able to grant more permissions to any user to have access to any page you like. The idea is that regular users should not have access to the plugin settings or sensitive information like Chat History, export chat, backup etc.

    Hello!

Keep up, you are doing great!

My user has the administrator role. I updated my staging site to 9.0.4 and the submenus are still not there.

On my live site (8.2.0) under Users -> “me” -> on the bottom of the page there are these “additional rights”:
    wplc_ma_agent, edit_wplc_quick_response, edit_other_wplc_quick_response, publish_wplc_quick_response, read_wplc_quick_response, read_private_wplc_quick_response, delete_wplc_quick_response

On the staging site (9.0.4) only: wplc_ma_agent

The “Chat Agent” box is ticked on both installations.

In the version the rights are a bit different.
As an administrator with the ‘Make this user a chat agent’ enabled, you should see:

    wplc_ma_agent, wplc_cap_show_history, wplc_cap_show_offline

Can you deactivate and re-activate the plugin? This should re-set the permissions. Also we’ll take a look at why it didn’t do this from the start.

This is what you should see if everything starts working fine:

I found a solution that I read on another post: I deactivated the plugin (staging with 9.0.4) and activated it and now there are submenus.

Edit: thank you. We posted at the same time.
