    Hello!

In the past, there was a pop-up of a dialog to whitelist a blocked background request.

This very helpful functionality seems to be not supported anymore? Now I became a “403 Forbidden
A potentially unsafe operation has been detected in your request to this site.” message.

So I have to go to Wordfence, set it into learning mode and do the blocked action again.

The thing is, that I’m working on a multisite-installation with network-activated Wordfence. So I have to leave my actual site (I was logged in as non-(super)admin), log in to the main website, switch to network admin, put Wordfence in learning mode, logout, log-in in the other site again to get my work done. As it is a fresh installation, this happens often… Well, learning mode can be set to some time of learning, but…

So, my question: Is there any way to set Wordfence in a mode where it ask’s for whitelisting an action? Maybe I have to set a capability, so that not every user is able to whitelist actions interactively?

    Thanks for answers!

  • Hi @nikelaos

This pop-up is still there, it’s called “Background requests monitor” and you can enable/disable this feature from (Wordfence > Firewall > Firewall Options > Whitelisted URLs > Monitor background requests from an administrator’s web browser for false positives).

The thing is that it only works for admins on single WordPress sites, and super admin on WordPress Network sites, so that’s why you didn’t get it when you were logged in as admin in your WordPress network site. Meanwhile, turning the firewall learning mode might be your best choice.

    Thanks.

Thanks a lot for that answer! As I remember I was logged in as superadmin on one network site and the pop-up doesn’t appear and as I checked the feature checkmarks, they were already enabled.

Anyway, know I have a handle and I will have a look how it works. So, I’ll report here if the next time a whitelist action will happen.
