• Is there an interface to interact with w3 total cache? I would need the functionality of some plugins loaded even if w3 total cache delivers the cached page.

One example: Each user (even unregistered) can select a country and the only get posts from this country displayed. These setting is saved in the users cookies. But to work nicely with w3 total cache i would need to have multiple versions of one page (e.g. Startpage showing all posts, startpage showing only austrian posts, startpage showing only german posts). Only thing i can think of is a custom plugin which sets the cache-key based on the cookie-value of the user. Any suggestions?

I used supercache befor and there are some hooks to interact with the plugin. But unfortunatelly it doesn’t seem to work right…

  • How about using different sub-domain (at. …, de. …, etc.) and have all sub-domains pull content from the same WP installation? And, re-direct people based on their cookie/country selection?

This way you should get different cache keys (==different (sub-)domain) and you do not need to change the default cache key behavior?

But, I’d also be interested to learn about a possible hook into W3TC for this kind of stuff.

@harlekinx, sorry there’s currently no API. Cookie-based caching will be available in a future release.
