• Hi,
Since Interac e-Transfer is only valid in Canada, there is no way to disable it showing up in all countries. The only control is in the “Enable for Shipping Methods” selection box where you can choose “Canada Post”, “Local Pickup”, “Flat Rate” and “Free Shipping” which is fine for orders within Canada. For orders from other countries like USA, Australia, UK, France etc. we still use Canada Post to ship to other countries which causes the WooCommerce ‘Email Money Transfer’ Payment Gateway plugin to display Interac as a payment option during checkout even though receiving Interac payments from anywhere besides Canada isn’t possible. This causes a lot of confusion for international customers who select Interac as their form of payment thinking they will be able to email money. Would you kindly be able to update the plugin so that it only displays Interac payment option during checkout if either the shipping or billing address is in Canada?

  • Hi @fritos

Did you get it worked out? I also sell physical products to US & Canada and only want Interac to show for Canadian customers.

Perhaps the only solution is to limit Interac orders to Canada Post, and use Fedex, UPS, etc. for all other orders?

Is there not a PHP hook in the plugin where in Woo General Settings if Geolocation is determined not to be Canada country code, the Interac option does not appear?

    Hi @gravatard
Sorry, developer is unresponsive. We also use Canada Post to ship to the US so that isn’t an option. Thanks for your help.

OK no worries. I went with WooCommerce Moneris Gateway plugin which has Interac functionality built in. Haven’t tested it yet, but hoping it doesn’t show for US customers. We’ll see!

LOL, we went with Moneris too, just finishing all the paperwork to open the account so haven’t tested yet but hope it works as advertised.

The plugin I mentioned above seems well-built and recently updated. The only qualm before testing Interac functionality for US customers is it’s missing UnionPay credit card icon and Visa/Mastercard debit card icons.
